Filling Bunny's Rabbit Hole

She was an eleven. I was doing math.

I spent our entire first date trying not to screw it up—pre-loading feed machines for kids at the petting zoo, holding her waist during mini golf, laughing at all the right moments. Bunny was gorgeous, bubbly, and so far out of my league I could barely form sentences around her.

So when she told me at her doorstep that she didn't see a future, I wasn't surprised.

When she told me what she wanted instead, I stopped breathing entirely.
