Two disasters. One unexpected best friend. Two weekends left.

The Family's matchmaking experiment for Midnight Morretti has not exactly gone according to plan.

The carefully selected candidates were supposed to prove the Castellanos knew what they were doing. Instead, the first two weekends crashed spectacularly, and Midnight's best connection so far came from ignoring the binder entirely and choosing a waitress.

Now it's Declan Brennan's turn.

Declan was one of the few names Midnight never had to talk herself into. Quiet, freckled, Irish in a sea of Italians, he has the same habit she does of listening before he speaks and the same kind of calluses on his hands. He chose the Finger Lakes for their weekend together, and after everything that's happened so far, the bar he has to clear could probably be located with mining equipment.

Unfortunately for Midnight, Declan isn't interested in merely clearing it.
